How would you define sexual assault?
“I would define sexual assault as forcing someone into non-consensual sexual acts. It can be forced upon by physical or emotional coercion.”

What can you do, personally, to prevent sexual assault?

“I think personally, you have to be aware of your surroundings.”

“To protect myself I would ensure to minimize being in compromising situations and to prevent it for others, it is important to be an advocate against any type of unwanted sexual advancements to any individual. Additionally, there should be no fear in reporting any type of aggression and ensure that every victim knows that they are not to blame.”

What should Texas State University do to discourage/condemn sexual assault, and how can they better help the victim(s) on campus?

“I think their policy should ensure that there is adequate presence of security officers. That they initiate an intervention program and educate students on the meaning of consent.

What can you do, personally, to prevent sexual assault?
“I feel that I can personally be preventing sexual assault by spreading awareness through my social media and educating those close around me. I believe having a conversation about what is going on will help people better understand how to handle sensitive topics like these.”

What should Texas State University do to discourage/condemn sexual assault, and how can they better help the victim(s) on campus?

“I believe Texas State University and every college in the nation should not tolerate any form of sexual assault. It is important for universities to continue to educate their students throughout the years of sexual assault and not only once at orientation.”
